I'm only making this entry because I heard the funniest thing on the equivalent of your 10pm news. New Zealand news tries hard enough to make itself purposeful, let’s be honest there is just so little news worthy events they’ll do almost anything to fill in 30minutes. Well tonight they hit new low (high) of pointlessness.
Picture this: New Zealand anchorwoman, the camera cuts away to a news story decidedly American (American accented male commentator, hick’ish group of guy’s staring up a pine tree at a bear they just tranquilized, debating how to get the bear down. Next scene, said hicks stacking up empty boxes from an alcohol store at the base of the tree, all of a sudden you hear a limb crack, hicks look up and then scatter as the bear cartwheels vertically down the tree…..missing the mountain of boxes.
During this time you hear the anchorwoman say “Is it a bad idea to tranquilize a bear up a tree?....... (here it comes) ……Does a bear SHIT in the woods?”
When I heard that last line I busted up laughing. If an anchor person in the states was so crass they’d find themselves working for Court TV.
I thought you’d like to hear that pointless little story.
PS:last weekend went to Jen’s b-day party, you remember the watermelon ball blog, well her’s was the first birthday in NZ I celebrated so it was a privilege to celebrate a second. Here’s to next years. Oh, no melon balls this time.
Spring is coming. The trees are starting to leaf and flower. I do wish I could see your autumn foliage.

Watch where you stand.
The anchor womans command about "Does a bear...",\ There probably was no question about it, when that bear hit the ground. Jim
