good time continue!good time continue!good time continue!

Emily, myself and Melinda ready to explore Scotland after meeting in Ireland!!
And I'll take the low road....

Arriving back in Edinburgh I felt like was back at home, i really just love the Scots! Came back with Emily, this great girl from Iowa that I met on the Irish tour! We met up with one of her friends and jumped on a bus towards Loch Lomond! It was great to be back around the highlands and we ended up staying in a beautiful old castle turned hostel....are we surprised? I did say i was back in Scotland!!!

After spending a day relaxing around the Loch we went over to Glasgow to be surprised by the international Bagpipping competition, we knew of the Edinburgh festival that goes on all of August but the atmosphere in Glasgow was unreal, and my lack of planning ahead landed me in a nice relaxing night at a B&B as that was the only accomodation available!!! We enjoyed some of the events that were going on in the city that night and the sounds of the bagpipes all around in the streets just reminds you that you're in Scotland!

Arriving back in Edinburgh i lucked out in finding a bed at a hostel....which allowed us
Nessie???Nessie???Nessie???

Legend or truth you be the judge...I know what i saw....
to enjoy a show from the festival that night! Population must triple in Edinburgh during the festival and you spend most of your time walking the streets dodging flyer and watching street performances but some shows are worth spending money on....This one we went to was Fuertzabruta, a performance from Argentina, travelling the world from one festival to another, it was intriguing and difficult to explain! A performance that unveilled around us as we stood in the middle of the performance with accrobats along the wall, stages coming at us from all corners, water coming down, wind blowing through us and energy surrounding!!!

The next day Emily made her way back to Ireland and heading home and Melinda (and Ozzy gal from the Irish tour) took on the challenge with me to find the Loch Ness Monster!! We hopped on the bus and up to Inverness. We took a bus to Loch Ness and on to the catamaran on the search to find Nessie!!!
Must have been our lucky day cuzz I swear i had a sighting of Nessie.....let me know what you think?! She didn't dissapoint what i had in mind!

From Inverness we headed back to
Freedom!!!!Freedom!!!!Freedom!!!!

The William Wallace Monument in Sterling... a man with a braveheart....
Perth on the east coast and i got to catch up with some friends and use Perth as a base to explore Sterling on a day trip!!
Sterling is a beautiful little city and claims to play an important part in keeping Scotland free from full English rule. Sterling was the place where William Wallace defeated the English and held on to a free Scotland....for those of you who need a refresher think hollywoods, Braveheart!!! They shall never take our Freedom!

This time back to Glasgow no surprise festivals Another day in the city, we were looking forward to making it back to Edinburgh and getting involved again in the atmosphere of the festival!! The biggest performance that has been a part of the Edinburgh festival for years is the world renown Military Tattoo!!! We stood in line in the rain for 2hours to get tickets, and as the typical scottish weather goes it didn't stop raining all day! I wouldn't for the life of me have it any other way, watching Military bands from all over the world performing traditional music on the footsteps of the Edinburgh Castle! Soaked through to the bone for two hours was worth
Edinburgh festivalEdinburgh festivalEdinburgh festival

What a wonderful atmosphere at the military tattoo!!!
every minute and we'd do it again!!! The performances were amazing!! I don't know how else to explain it.

On a Whim.....one day in Ireland.....Simon of Australia said to me, hey i'm off to Malta next ,visit some family, he invited me to see this beautiful Mediterranean island. The beauty of never really having a plan....

big hugs
