Our Hotel room note the view
Finally, close to midnight Friday August 10, after a 20 hour journey from Amsterdam, we arrived at El Alto Airport in La Paz. The welcome was very warm indeed with half of Margots new colleges showing up at the airport in the middle of the night. After the short drive from the Airport we were ready for a good nights sleep at our new home for the coming months, the Casa Grande Hotel in Zona Sur.

As you can imagine we had a nice and long sleep. Very happy that we didn’t really have any problems with the altitude, approx 3300m at the Hotel (and no less than 3900m at the airport), we went for a good solid breakfast before we had a look around in our new city of residence.

Our Hotel room with own kitchen is on the 8th floor of the Hotel, and the view is absolute spectacular. I sure we will be fed up with staying in a hotel before all our stuff arrives, but as for now we really like it.

All the best, Margot & Michael

Hi guys, so nice to follow your daily life over there! Margot, you lucky girl..champaign on your birthday!! The pictures of the local people are more or less the same as I remember from your earlier stay, very colourfull and authentic. Michael: can imagine its not easy to find a place you both can call home, looking back on the last year working in the Paramaribostraat..fingers crossed for something like that, with 2 extra rooms in case we come to visit (haha). big kisses Carolien
