Finally here. Tomorrow I'm taking a flight from JFK to Athens. Needless to say I'm very excited. Easily as excited as I've ever been. Maybe even more so, although it hasn't truly hit me yet. I'm sure it will when I step off the plane in Athens. As you probably know I'll be traveling alone. It's a little intimidating but I think I'd rather have it this way. I look forward to learning about the world out there and hopefully something about myself as well. Can't wait to experience what the sistine chapel smells like. How do you like them apples?


A rough itinerary...

August 28th - Flight from JFK to Athens

August 29th - Arrive Athens

August 30th - Parthenon & Acropolis, National Archaeological Museum, etc.

August 31st - Panathenaikos (Olympic) Stadium, Cape of Sounion

September 1st - Trip to Island Poros

September 2nd - Travel to Italy, ferry from Patras to Ancona

September 3rd - Arrive Florence

September 4th - Piazza Dell Signoria, Uffizi Gallery, Neptune fountain, San Marco, Galleria dell’Accademia, etc.

September 5th - Duomo & around, Cathedral, bell tower, Baptistery etc.

September 6th - Travel Florence to Rome

September 7th - Papal Audience, Coliseum, Forum, Pantheon etc.

September 8th - Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s silica, Piazza di San Pietro

September 9th - Piazza Navona, Borghese Gallery, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps

September 10th - Piazza Venezia, Piazza del Popolo, Capitoline Museums

September 11th - Whatever didn’t fit in

September 12th - Travel Rome to Edinburgh

I don't know if I will be able to post much (at all) before I get to Edinburgh, but if I have the time and abilility I certainly will.
