Hi all! Another busy but good day!! I love working... today I was busy alll day... we had an event tonight, so I was busy booking taxis for ushers, revising the script for the awards creremony, ordering shirts for next week's event, etc. etc. They have most certainly kept me busy! After that I was able to go to the event we've organized for tonight and it was absolutely wonderful! The event was for the annual Charity Awards--everything looked fabulous and although I didn't get to stay for the event tonight, I'm sure it was great!! It was almost like a mini version of the Oscars- it looked so professional!! Meanwhile, I had a chance to talk a little more with a few of my co-workers. They are so friendly and nice and today I talked to another guy who's doing work experience (internship) just like me but is from the UK. We were talking a lot about the differences between here and the US-- how they call fries 'chips' and chips 'crisps', how they call friends 'mates', and they even have this drink called orange squash!! He was trying to explain it to me and then let me try some. To be honest, it tastes like a bad version of lemonade; but I guess that they like it here! It was really cool to see the event-- it's a lot more rewarding to actually see it visually than preparing it with a bunch of computer documents!!! Anyways, today was a great day at work. I've also noticed that a lot of people here say the words 'brilliant' and 'wicked' and was thinking that those might be quite good words to add to my vocabulary 😊 Of course, they sound much better with their cute British accents (which are gradually becoming much more normal for me to hear).
After that, a bunch of people in my program and I headed to the park and picked up some wine and pizza to celebrate our friend's birthday. It was quite fun! Nothing like having fun with some food and drinks in St. James Park with good people!
Now I'm about to head to bed-- tomorrow we are taking a day trip- a river cruise to Greenwich (pronounced 'Gren-itch'-- trust me, my boss corrected me! ha) and a tour of London Parliament- and I'm getting up earlier as usual to run with my friend. It's nice to have someone to go with every morning; it keeps me motivated! On Saturday we are making a day trip to Oxford, which I am also really looking forward to! This should be a great weekend!!
Hope everyone has a splendid weekend as well! Cheers!!
