Nothin' left to do but write songs...Nothin' left to do but write songs...Nothin' left to do but write songs...

It's just me 'n my ukulele now. Not a whole lot more happens when you've got a bung foot! (that's right Luce, I finished your song!)
Right, well now I'm an IMMOBILE hermit (in more ways than one- my mobile is still out of batteries) stuck way out on an obscure cliff at the end of a mile-long, untamed trail through inhospitable jungle. I went snorkelling this morning, which was beautiful until I carved up my feet good and proper on some angry coral. In resignation from the 'Big Day'' I had planned, I hobbled back up my 50-odd steps and decided to spend the rest of the day on my verandah writing songs and listening to music. Not a bad alternative, really- however, round about 1 o'clock I started getting bored of that, and decided to go on a mission after all - despite barely being able to walk - and hiked a good kilometer through more jungle around to Chalok Ban Kao, which is the place with the Buddha rock. I'm now sitting with a completely buggered foot in an internet cafe on the beach (interesting combination, I know) and I'm not looking forward to the hike back. Going to go home and nurse my foot in a waterfall of tea tree oil before drowning my sorrows in some Tom Kha Gai. From now on

The view from this bloody internet cafe! Waste of a beautiful bit of beach if you ask me! :P
I take taxis everywhere... wait, no- boats... there are no roads remember... Bugger.

Get to a hospital
Your Dad is at school umpiring a Hockey carnival and got a call from Nornie who told him aboout your injury. Your dad asked me to write and pass on a few words. 1. Coral cuts - very fast infection. Spreads and grows quickly. Keeps growing inside you. 2. Have you got nodes in your groin area? 3. You will most likely need antibiotics. 4. Travel insurance should cover everything. Get RECEIPTS and get policy details from your mum. 5. You should probably shift closer to where you can get treatment. 6. You need more than just topical treatment, probably antibiotics, a cream will just get rid of the surface infection, but not the one growing inside you. 7. If you stay where you are and become imobile life will be very difficult and you may miss your plane. Move to a place where you are able to get help. 8. Do not just ignore it, go and do something about it before it gets even worse. 9. If you get a chance, call. Reverse charges if your mobile is still out of action. 10. Listen to the voice of reason and experience!! Hope you get this message soon. Love B
