Park Life.
Well not really, but its a good caption. Humpfh. (Ignore my thumb at the top left) Vienna was something of a down-tempo jump after the insanity of Prague. I struggled to find a bar with live music, let alone a CD track. Vienna is a city of culture, music and beautiful beautiful buildings.
Leaving Prague was a tough one. It had been the best time of my travels so far - many friends, many beers and many nights out. I had been itching for a back-to-back nights out since Amsterdam, and Prague sated my appetite. But Vienna. Stepping from the train and being hopelessly lost (despite being within two hundred metres of the chosen hostel), did not bode well and the hostel, Wombats Hostel Vienna, was akin to an Argos store of backpackers. With not much to do in the city night-wise, no wonder the hostel bar (with free pool.... muwhahaha, I kept our English flag flying... you know how well I can play sometimes guys, lets just say the balls could have been dipped in whisky and the pockets full of gunpowder) was open to a rather welcome 4am. But then again, the atmosphere was like every student dive we've all graced here or there.
Vienna music museum was cool, a necessary injection
Vienna Restaurant Row.
Plenty of options, very few days. of culture, straight up on the rocks. Complete with corridors of history and a groovy soundscape zone where I got to flap my arms around and create a musical piece. A heavy downpour later and Vienna was almost exhausted. The search for a decent bar was fraught with dead ends and pitch black alleyways. Usually you can listen for the good places and simply follow the hum of people and music, but Vienna was a blanket of quiet. Though there were a plethora of wonderful kebab stalls, I must admit.
Not much else to report really. I don't think the Vienna tourist board would agree with me on most of my points, but me being me... the city was elegant, but boring. Onwards and southeastwards to Budapest, says I.
Over and out for now. Budapest journeys incoming soon.

Wooden Board
That wooden board looks exactly like one right out of my kitchen! You sure you've gone overseas and aren't just hidden in my cupboard? Must admit, we're still half expecting you to turn up as a contestant on Big Brother. It'd be just the sort of scam you'd pull.
