Enjoying a Bodosi
Arrives in Budapest on Sunday evening after a two hour train trip from Bratislava on the Euro City. 1st Class Eurorail is a very pleasant way to travel.

Staying at a very nice hotel in a great location on the Pest side of the city.

Budapest is a huge city on both sides of the Danube.

Spent our first day Monday getting familiar with the city. We took a 3 hour bus tour which either went past or stopped at many main locations, including House of Parliament, Castle District on Buda side and the monument of Heroes. All Magnificent!!!!!!!

In the afternoon we walked to St Stphens Basilica, an amazing church not to far from our hotel. We took the lift to the tower which provided gret views over the city. On the way back we stopped at a street cafe for some much needed refreshments! The local brew here is Bodosi, not bad at all!!

Tuesday saw us take a walk down Andrassy Ave, which has 'been modeled on the Champs D'Allyses in Paris (not sure of spelling) This took us to the city park and the Szechenyi Spa Baths. We spent a couple of

Thermal baths
hours relaxing here in the thermal baths, temperature ranging from 30degrees in one bath to 38 in another. Fantastic although old Hungarian men and women would be well advised to give the speedos and bikinis a miss!!
Spent the afternoon with a visit to the produce market. Not to diffeent from the Vic Market only bigger.
Had dinner at an Hungarian Beer Hall located at our hotel, followed by a walk along the river to takes a some pictures of the sights at night.

Spent our final day walking around the old town of Buda. To get there we had to take a ride on the "Funicular: or the "Foonyclar" as Glenn calls it!!lol Nice but much like other old towns in Europe.

Tonight we are planning a nice pasta meal at our hotel followed by a few beers whilst watching the Champions League Final, between Liverpool and AC Milan.

Spoke to Matt last night, sounds like he is having the best of times. Really impressed that he has been able to see so many sights and not been afraid to get out by himself!!

Tim is feeling much better and really ejoying Bovec. The boat

company has agreed to make them a new boat which will be ready before they leave for home!!

Heading to Slovenia tomorrow by train (9 hours) to stay the night then pick up a car and drive to Bovec for 3 days.

Hope all is well back home, very warm here about 30 each day.
