Sals birthday!!Sals birthday!!Sals birthday!!

so classy with our mugs of wine....glass at least!!
I loved the place as soon as we arrived - no smog and really fresh!! We all piled in to the cheapest hostel we could find and really liked it too!! The only bad thing about the place was that it was quite expensive - ski town in winter!!

We went for a few beers as soon as we got here and ended up with the cheapest things on the menu due to the prices and only a few beers as they were a rip off!!

We chilled for a day and then hired a vehicle to do the 7 Lakes route to start on Sal´s birthday - up to San Martin De Los Andes and back. So off we toddled, the six of us in our sexy Kangoo vehicle nicknamed Pooky.....yep Pooky. great name hee!! On paper it looked to be a pretty straight forward route up to San MArtin, we had our lunch spot targeted...but teh lunch spot never seemed to come and before we knew it we were in a town far beyond San Martin...oops - we had gone totally the wrong way and had in fact missed out most of the 7 Lakes...but was fun all the same!! We passed some amazing scenery and stopped off for a lovely picnic for Sals birthday and a masive chocolate brownie cake - yummm!!

We arrived in San Martin after a cool ride up, seeing lots of scenery we didnt mean to, but we had a bad addition to the car - a lovely big scratch down the entire side of the passenger side....I knew I had got close to some trees on the dodgy road but not that close....oops!! (Luckily we managed to sort it to look not so much like a scratch so dint cost tooo much!!)

We found a nice hostel and had some vino (student style) in prep for Sals birthday meal and then went to a bar and on to the restaurant, finished off with another chocolate brownie dessert with candles for Sal...yumm again!!

Next day we made sure we were going to hit the right road, after a few hungover car adventures of me trying to drive the wrong way up the one way street and then heading straight towards another car going in to teh garage...I knew what I was doing....erm maybe!?!?

The drive back was lovely and we stopped off at the town that we were meant to stop by on the way up and had a drink - cute woody place!

We made it home in one piece thanks to Sal and Keely driving most of the way!! We patched up the car and took it back, was sad to say bye to the little special beast, it really did look like a special van, especially when Colin started to wave at other vehicles and people passing by!!

A fun little road trip, would have been nice to have been able to explore more around San Martin though - was a really nice place and great hostel!

TBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
