India - The South

 Asia » India » Karnataka » Hampi
This was not in the plan but was so glad to get to the warmth and the more chilled out way of pretty much everything...the men still stare but not with as much conviction as the northern counterparts!! We got to Ajanta too late to stay...so did the big haul down to Bombay! we moved form our comfy 3AC sleepr down to sleeper and went to sit with the locals, we even had to share a seat since it was so full! It was a great journey and met a lovely family who tried to give me some bangles, upon me [View Full Entry]

India - The Northern bits

 Asia » India » Rajasthan » Jodhpur
More pics to follow..... We didnt quite know what to expect when we arrived in India, all we knew was that people we had spoken to seemed to both love and hate the place for so many reasons and that there would be cows everywhere amidst the chaos in the streets and beaches. We had been warned about the many toting stores of the conmen that target you as soon as you set foot on land so we felt semi prepared and little bit anxious and excited!! So first leg complete - we made it from the airport without being scammed, [View Full Entry]

It was an early start but worth it!!
After much deliberation we decided - yep we will head to Cambodia, and we were so glad we did!! The country is amazing and the people are so lovely! Thetrip overthe border was quite an experience and we were so lucky not to get ripped off and actually get ataxi at the otherside to do the 3 hour trip through arough ass dirt track!!fun! The journey was beautiful past lush green farmland, rice paddies and people manually working the fields, rice out to dry on the side of the road and gorge water buffalo's pulling ploughs along!! Siem Reap was much [View Full Entry]

Over to Thailand

 Asia » Thailand » Central
In to Bangkok, not there long before we head back out! We ran away to a little island to relax for a while...ended up not able to leave for just over a week- pure paradise as the resort name suggests 'Koh Wai Paradise'- our humble abode was a wooden hut 10metres from the sea, great food, beer and great people! Whilst on teh island we managedto do lots of reading, our daily skips and exercises (rather limited due to the size of the island), lots of eating and learnt a couple of recipes, lots of swimming and of course some snorkelling [View Full Entry]

ok...we have been in Melbourne for over three months and its now time to move on, so I guess we should finally start on the blog updates again!! We are pretty sad to be leaving this place, its such a nice place to live, just so nice and easy! It has pretty much everything one would want in a place and is probably the best city I have been to...and that is me, the girl who hates cities!! The ony thing Melbourne and around is lacking is lots of hills, fair play, it has some, just not quite enough and its [View Full Entry]

We arrived into Picton to glorious sunshine - yeyyy!! It was a brilliant journey through the Cook Strait past lots of great land formations and amazing greenery on such steep sided cliffs - wow!! We decided to do a little trip along the coast since we didnt have time to go across to Abel Tasman or Nelson (boo) so we did a coastal drive to havelock which was beautiful but rather windy.... our main aims were to see some Rutherford enrollment for Darren....and also to get some infamous green lipped mussels, which were lovely but I have to say the [View Full Entry]
