Well after a few days hanging around the Brittany coast I've come up with a couple of tips

1. When window shopping it's important that you scan the footpath ahead prior to gazing into the windows as you aimlessly wander along the street. This will save you the hassle of becoming bogged in a mound of dog sh** Remember try not to get distracted and keep scanning ahead.

2. I'm not sure if the French invented the roundabout but they sure have embraced it big time here in Nantes. There's the small roundabout, the square roundabout, the two roundabouts side by side, the ones with a tramline through the middle it's got it all.

2.(a) Driving around roundabouts, once upon a time I thought that the italians were the insane drivers of europe, well this has now changed, welcome to the roundabout rally. Those flashing orange lights at the front and rear of the car are only for decoration and mean nothing when anywhere near a roundabout. The only rule is go in an anticlockwise direction, he who is on the roundabout first wins, unless you can push in front of them. When it comes to exiting the roundabout just exit as everyone expects you to cut in front of them.

3. Just because a place has an 's' on the end of it's name it doesn't mean it's pronounced that way, for example Nantes is pronounced Nante, Le Mans pronounced Le Man, Rennes is pronounced Renne, Toures is pronounced Toure, yeah go figure it would have been easier to leave the 's' off, but that's France

Hopefully on my return to France there will be photos to go with this one Gary
