After many hours on a plane, we finally made it in to Prague. The connection in Frankfurt was tight, since security in Frankfurt is high and the flight from Vancouver left late. Luckily we made it, and were happy to finally be off of planes by around 2PM Sunday.

First things first! A nap at the hotel: meant to be an hour but ended up being two. Just as well as Sheila got a tummy ache - not sure if this was from bad plane food or a small flu bug. Either way, the nap helped somewhat!

Prague is beautiful. At around 6PM we left the hotel to wander along the river, which eventually led us to one of the most popular tourist destinations: Charles Bridge. It is lined with gorgeous statues and the ground is all old cobblestone. Gorgeous.

Wandered around for a few more hours but Sheila was still not feeling 100%, so stopped for our first Czech meal and beer (the best beer in the world, some say!) Aron had the Pork Schnitzel with Potato Salad, and Sheila ordered the beef broth - very traditional and not overly flavourful, but very nice on the tummy! The Pilsner Urquell was awesome, so we sat and enjoyed it on a patio restaurant.

Today we're up early with jetlag - woke at 4:15 and have laid in bed eyes closed for 2.5 hours, but are giving up. 😊 We're going to get an early start to the day, and head up to the castle, getting breakfast along the way.

Suspect we'll end up needing an afternoon nap, but this will be a good thing: Sheila has two hours of conference to attend this evening! Aron will undoubtedly wait at the hotel bar, sucking back a few more Urquell!
