My arty farty photo!
It seems that the monsoon season has arrived a little early here as today it has absolutley peeed down and the other day I slipped down an entire flight of stairs that was wet and am now sporting a rather attractive bruise, covering my entire thigh, various shades of colour and was so swollen it looked like a 3rd arse cheek! Will be a while until I get my swim suit out I think.

From what I've seen of Siem Reap so far, I really like it. Could be to do with the fact that there is a street called Bar Street, which has ridiculously priced cocktails (and very strong), and then they're 2 for 1 during Happy Hour, which runs from 6pm to 2am. One bars slogan is 'promoting irresponsible drinking since 1998' - says it all really!

The real reason we are here though are for the temples of Angkor - these are the largest religious temples in the world, and date back to the 8th century to the 13th century. At this time they had a population of over 1 million, this is when London was a mere dot on the map. They spread out

It was definately worth the ridiculously early start!
over 40 miles and it's fair to say that it is quite specatacular as the majority of the temples have some of the most intricate carvings I've ever seen.

So apart from doing the odd bit of drinking here and there we have 'done' the temples at Angkor. We opted for the 3 day pass and now we understand what the popular phrase over here means 'same, same, but different'. Although they are all fantastic in their own right, they do all start to merge into one after a bit! On the second day we decided to get up at 5am to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat which is THE site. I've got to say it was worth it and took a ridiculous amount of photos of it, in the hope that one will turn out ok.
