Hi everyone im still alive!!! Sorry for being so long between the updates, but the internet connections here are devastatingly slow and we have been sightseeing and traveling so much that’s its hard to keep on top of the updates. Here goes anyway!!
Im not going to bore you all with a history lesson as it really would take a few pages of this blog. So heres a link for those of you that are interested in finding out about the history surrounding Angkor Wat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angkor_Wat
Both Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones have been filmed here and you can see why as it’s an unbelievable place, and its and instant film set no work or big money required making it up.
The main temple Angkor Wat is unbelievable and my pictures dont do the place any justice, you must make sure that you do this temple last, otherwise all the other temples would be disappointing in size terms compared to this monster!! It really is up there being one of the world’s most amazing sights.
We spent the day exploring the temples and it was hard, as it was 40c and the sun was constant all
day, but well worth it. It’s amazing that you can actually explore the temples almost freely climbing anything you want, and taking any route you want. Back at home you wouldn’t even be able to get near anything, without it being cordoned off to the public. Some of the climbs were incredibly steep and to be honest a little dangerous once you realised what you were doing but we made it safe and sound so all is good.
Health and safety back at home would have a field day at this place, but that would take away the appeal of the place.
Our tuk-tuk driver and guide raddy was a legend and really made for a great day, so special thanks to him.
In the evening we retired to a street in Siam Reap called bar street. It’s very aptly named, it’s a great hang out for the western backpacker brigade, and the best place on this street has to be called Angkor What? Bar. Pitcher Jugs of Vodka and Redbull for silly prices and a late night opening make this bar the only place to go in town. Buy 2 pitchers and you get a free T-shirt.
Tombraider Temple
The most photographed tree in the world? All the trees roots grow through the walls of the temples! Very handy when you have so little clothes with you! and you’re thirsty ;-)

Awesome update again, looks amazing. Just wondering how many times you hummed the theme tune to yourself while you were looking around.
