Insadong...
Just the girls! Hello Friends and family! I realize that is has been forever since my last blog but to tell you the truth, not too much has been happening aroun here. Well nothing but this....
The weather around Seoul has become more tolerable in the past couple of weeks and I am certain that by next week I will just be wearing t-shirts to school! YAY! Last week I had my first Korean field trip with my class and three other classes from my school. Now, there is one thing that you have to understand about Korean field trips, they aren't that fun and basically it is a chance for the school to take a lot of pictures of the kids and their teachers (lucky me for being a teacher!) to show the parents how happy their kids look. We went to this place called The Childrens Grand Park that I myself wanted to spend about 10 hours in just looking around and playing at all the different venues that were there. But unfortunately for our kids, we only got to look at the Botantical garden and the zoo. Which were both amazing things to see however, our kids were always being

Random parade in the street photographed and told where to go and what to do that neither them nor any of the staff really got to enjoy anything. Needless to say it was better than teaching english for three hours back at school. I just hope that next time things go a bit smoother which I am sure that they will 😊 This past weekend the weather was awesomse so we all decided to get together and go to a more artsy district that is called Insadong. Morgan, Jasmine, Adam and I ventured here when were on the amazing race but didn't really have time to look around or do much. Its actually a really neat place. There are many traditional Korean houses and handmade korean souvenirs/goods that one could purchase. The weather made it all worthwhile as well! Felt good to absord all that Vitamin D instead of polluted rain...I left Insadong early to meet up with my Korean friend Jade in Hondae. We did a bit more shopping and went out for dinner. She is such a great person and I am lucky to have her as my friend. While we were there, a hip hop festival was going on so we stopped

Random parade in the street and watched that for a bit. They have some really talented dancers here! The pictures don't do what I saw justice but I did my best! I was pretty tired after a long day of sights and shopping so I headed home to freshen up before meeting up with Adam, Jasmine, Christine, Joni and Joe. We enroute to Itaewan for some stress relief after a long week! We ended up going to a Canadian bar called The Rocky Mountain Tavern, where they just happen to be playing all the playoff games! So I am pretty pumped about that! We sat down to have a beer and there were these guys sitting next to us. I decided that it would be a good idea to strike up a convo with them ( mainly because they were kinda cute!) and see where they were from. Two of the guys, Sam and Rowan, are form NZ and Sean was from Canada...east coast somewhere. Anyways...blah blah blah, they ended up being really great guys and I have now befriended them as well. I tell ya, pretty soon I am going to have friends all over the world and places to stay if I ever

Us girls and the Morgster...he's so awesome! want to go on a vacation. I think that has been a really cool part of travelling, just meeting people and listening to their stories and finding out where they are from. It sure makes the world seem like such a small place compared to always being around the same people or even just Canadians.
The big news around Sullivan School these days is that we have a new teacher and he is Canadian. He has actually been here for four days now and seems like a really great addition to our teaching team. He and I actually went out for dinner to Itaewan last night. We went to this Morrocan (spelling?) restaurant and had the most amazing lemon chicken and apricot chicken I think I have ever tasted! No joke...it was unreal. After dinner we just bummed around Itaewan and ended up wandering back to The Rocky Mountain Tavern...now here is a funny story...my good friend Kevin had already told me that Calgary had won against Detroit 3-2. So we walked in there and the bartender was putting up the times that they would be braodcasting the upcoming games. This was at about 8:40 pm and the game was

Morgan, Christine, Christian and ME! What a good lookin' bunch... going to be put on at 9:00. So I gladly announce to the bar that Calgary had already lost and that they were wasting their time watching it...mostly because I loathe Calgary. I have never seen so many upset people in my life! And the bartender became such a prick! So, we ended up leaving (cause who wants to watch Calgary) and as we are walking down the street, I asked Joshua if I had said they won or lost....he answered with lost....we both starte laughing because they had won!!!! I am just so used to saying that Calgary lost....whoopsie!! So I really made a lot of people upset for no reason....haha yay me!
But after a fun night out today at school I was a bit tired. My kids were driving me bonkers! Sometimes you just have to let them be kids and realize you are there to have fun...which we did after they calmed down a bit. We got to make Strawberry Milkshakes today! Which maybe doesn't sound that great but, did I mention that we got to wear chefs outfits! Oh yeah check out my new career as a culinary master of the blender. It was so

Hip Hop festival much fun! All my kids hats were too big and kept falling off....but the shakes were good and the kids seemed to have a great time which is what my job is all about! I had a great time too, I can't lie about it....I have the best job in the world!
So enjoy the pics, there are some postcards out there somewhere for those of you that have given me you address
