Well folks, we are now in Kalgoorlie having made the Nullabor crossing with little fuss, although I should mention that travelling into a Westerly breeze on a road that always seemed uphill, made for slow going at times…need a bigger motor! We stayed at Streaky and then camped out at Scott Bay near Fowlers bay - awesome spot and well worth returning to.

Fishing results thus far are good, with Streaky jetty producing gar, tommies and almost a nice size trevally after a 2-3 minute fight around the pylons! Fowlers was good for sandy whiting, with most of the time spent either swimming or digging the Patrol out of the sand - Stephs fault!

Kalgoorlie is definitely a mining town, but very well developed - a bigger version of Broken Hill. The Super pit is indeed pretty big - Bondy did do something worthwhile! They blasted 3 times today which was pretty speccy.

We are fossicking tomorrow and then moving further North through to Leinster and then Mt Magnet and across to Geraldton by end of the weekend.

Highlights thus far: Fowlers, Smoky Bay Oysters (still eating them!), angus double header, lots of sleep for Mike, Eucla, super pit
Lowlights: Getting bogged, power failures at Cocklebiddy,

Time to go… dinner is almost ready.

Talk soon. Cheers

The Big Hole
We were in Kalgoorlie about 15 years ago, looks like the big hole has got much, much bigger since then. Could well be the hole in the ozone layer is being mirrored on the big hole.
