No other way to describe this place, but awesome. Its Crazy, spent alot of today finding my feet, which involved lots of Tuk Tuk rides, which is a great way to get around.

Had plans to visit the Grand Palace today, but without my luggage its a little difficult, as you need to cover legs and shoulders and as I only bought shorts and a vest yesterday, Kind of rules that one out, so hopefully I can do that tomorrow. Anyway today I took a visit to Jim Thompson's House, who in a nutshell is an American guy who helped rebuild the Thai silk trade. And he built these amazing houses, which are full of Thai antiques, paintings etc, pretty cool.

Then this afternoon I took a trip down the Chaophraya in a long tail boat. Now I don't normally like boats, but there are some things you must do and this is one of them. Got stung by the people on the floating markets, but then I guess everything is so cheap here you don't mind parting with a few Bahts, and they gave me some bizarre fruit to eat...no idea what it was but tasted good.

Anyone know what this is? You peel the outside off and its yellow inside

Hey this trip is curing all my fears, didn't like flying or boats and I've now done both on my own!

The people in Bangkok are so nice too, I've been wandering around all day with my map in hand and people are only too quick to help and offer advice, yeah you get the ones that want you to ride in their tuk tuk or taxi, but most are genuinely just friendly and want to help a damsel in distress. It's such an amazing place. I wandered back to the hostel around midnight and not once did I feel unsafe!

Well you'll be pleased to know that my luggage turned up today, so now I have my luxuries again...my hairdyer & GHDs and my clothes of course!

I decide to try the street food tonight for my tea, which was an experience in itself. They speak very little English and well I speak no Thai, so I ended up with Chicken & Noodles. It definitely contained Lemon grass and a tonne of Chilli as it nearly blew my head off, although was very nice and cost peanuts!

Well now I have my luggage Grand Palace & Giant Buddha tomorrow, then friday I set of for the islands!
