My backpack Day One
15kilos of pain and agony Monday
Got to Milnagvie at quarter to nine. Had to wait till the shops opened at nine so I could get some meth for the little stove I have borrowed of Jimmy Stewart. It was very easy to get a hold off and cheap as well. Now I know why druggies use it lol.
Got underway at quarter past nine. Havent brought a map with me, but the route is well sign posted and easy to follow. Backpack is a killer. I have only really took the basics with me, but i don't know how my back and shoulders will be by the end of the week.
Meet a couple of women from essex in the morning. Walked with them for a couple of hours. They were telling me about all their walking holidays they have bben on before and it took my mind off the weight on my shoulders. I had to move on ahead though as my pace was a bit quicker.
Stopped in Drymen for lunch.Went to the big hotel there. Had soup and a sandwhich for a fiver. It was ok, but not worth a fiver. Left and continued on to Balmaha.
Stopped at the
campsite just outside Balmaha. It was decent. Backpackers had their own facilites. It was a small hut with everything inside. Used the main toliet block as i was closer to it and it was bigger and cleaner.
Oh yes. I also forgot to pack my socks. Had them drying on the radiator and never put them in my bag.
