The Easter Bunny!
Awwwwww Isn't he cute! Well hello again...
yes it has been a while. No we have not been imprisoned, unconcisous or otherwise missing. We have just been working.
I mentioned that our manager was away for 2 weeks so while she was in South Africa we all had to step up and work some extra hours. I sympathise with anyone who works 7 days without a sleep in. I need my sleep in. And yes I'm sure there are people that have and continue to work harder than me for all or some of their lives (Grandma Val for example - even though we've tried to make her stop.) But I don't think I could ever do it.
Anyways our manager arrived back in the country on Wednesday and was back at work on Thursday. And yes I took full advantage of this and slept in until about 11am. Very nice. So Thursday was also my day off. I spent most of it sleeping and then the rest of it sitting around doing nothing much really. Yes I know we are in another country and perhaps we should explore a bit but... I was tired and the day wasn't really that nice.
Speaking of weather it's starting to get a bit sunnier over here. We've had some nice spring days. It's definitely not hot but you can venture outside in a T-shirt and jeans and only shiver when the wind blows. Kind of like a nice winter day at home.
So we took advantage of one of these nice days on Friday and went for a walk. Well it was almost by force. We wanted to go to a particular reastaurant in Redhill and due to it being Good Friday (public holiday) there were no buses running. So it was Taxi or walk. Guess which option Tyson would have prefered......... We compromised and I told Tyson to bring a card and we could call a taxi if he collapsed halfway. So an hour later we arrived in Redhill after a nice walk in the sun. The only downside was it was mostly roadside so the scenery was not too exciting.
Anyways lunch was had and due to the return journey being uphill and Tyson having to begin work in 30mins we caught a Taxi. Unfortunately we got caught out (obviously not quite local enough) and caught the wrong kind of Taxi. So instead of paying 5 pound we ended up with a 10 pound fare. (at least we didn't have to pay both ways).
So today was Easter Sunday. Yesterday wasn't too busy nor was today. It seems that most people have taken advantage of the good weather and gone away for the long weekend. So Happy Easter to everyone. The Easter bunny did manage to find us over here. Well Tyson at least. (Some of us are a little more fororganised (new word perhaps) and skilled at hiding things - such as chocolate). So we had the customary morning treat of chocolate. (I had an apple first so it wasn't really my breakfast).
It's also customary at the Whyte Harte to have an Easter Egg hunt. So Harry and I hid all the eggs this morning for the kiddies to find. Half way through Harry got bored with it and then threw a few eggs in the garden. (some rolling a little too far into the bushes). Apparently last year the squirrels managed to find some of the eggs that the kids missed and then became hyper active on sugar for a few hours, so I guess the ones in the bushes were for them.
So along with the egg hunt came James the Magician. A very jolly fellow. (actaully he was a nice guy... PLUS he had a rabbit) So he helped the kids find the eggs and then entertained them with some magic. Unfortunately there weren't too many kids so they ended up with about 15 eggs each. A little extreme really. Anyways have a look at the photos at the rabbit. Very cute and called Nibbles. I don't think he was actually pulled out of the hat but he sat in there for a bit and the kiddes loved him. (Eveyln, Tyson, Emma, and me......) The kitchen thought that rabbit stew would make a nice special.
After the kids had left Harry and I managed to find 9 eggs that the kiddies hadn't found. (obviously 15 eggs was enough) The squirrels will have to find the rest.
So tonight is the week that the boys are due to clean the lines. When this is done there are 4 pints per line which must be thrown. (or drunk). It's tough but they put themselves on the line and drink them. So there are 5 lines that need to be cleaned. They don't drink the Guiness or the John Smiths so that leaves 3. Which would be 12 pints which would be 6 pints each. Which is a good session really. But of course it must be done!
Well I think that's about all I have for now. Hope everyone had a fantastic Easter.

happy easter
Hi guys, Happy Easter, great weather for eating chocolate I say - just took the boys to the circus - 2 hours of Ned sitting still - can you believe it? don't worry he had his moments (not many though) camped at Lake Moogerah on Good Friday - who would have thought. Had the most amazing lunch cooked by your beautiful Mum - yes you were missed. Have fun - I leave for M in 6 days.
