In less than 20 days I will be on the journey of my lifetime! I received an email about two weeks ago inquiring about my balloon animal skills. An amusement park called, “Huis Ten Bosch” wants me to perform for three months in the southern tip of Japan on the island of Kyushu. To a birthday party clown like myself this is a once in a lifetime opportunity! This has been my dream for many years. I have been a birthday party clown for almost 30 years. About 15 years ago I met an amazing balloon artist, Ken Serano. He was one of the lucky balloon artists that would journey to Japan or Hawaii for two or three months at a time and perform like an international superstar making balloon animals at amusement parks. As he told me of his adventures, I too began my dream…my wish…one day I would travel around the world and make balloon animals too.

Of course, my life as a clown doesn’t come without some amazing accomplishments. In the summer of 1996, I was

contacted by Hollywood to help in making balloon animals for Robin William’s movie “Patch Adams”. Over the past several years I’ve had the opportunity to perform for many famous celebrities like The Rolling Stones, The Wallflowers, Bob Dylan, Bono, Barry Bonds, The San Francisco Giants, The San Francisco 49ers, and Dom DeLuis. In 2000, my dream of owning my original clown car became a reality. In 2005, I made my first DVD teaching anyone who takes the time to study it can learn all my techniques and ten of my original designs. And in June of 2005, I took my DVD to Europe and introduced it to Millennium Jam, Europe’s largest balloon artist convention. In 2006, I met Jeff Hobson, a famous Las Vegas magician that hosts the show at the Aladdin called, “V”. He is producing my next balloon making DVD kit that will teach kids how to make simple balloon designs. WOW, this alone is amazing for any birthday party clown to have in their lifetime. But as luck would have it my journey has come to a new adventure. This time I’m off for a three month tour to Japan at Huis Ten Bosch, a Dutch based

amusement park in Kyushu, Japan. I will begin my tour on April 23rd and stay in Japan until July 15th.

Today, is my birthday. I’m 42 today. I have been a clown for almost 30 years and in just a few weeks my greatest wish is about to happen. I will travel around the world, visit places I’ve only read about in books and do what I love the most; making balloon animals.

We knew the answer was 42, but now we know that the question was "At what age will Funnybone begin his world tour?" I know you'll knock them dead and have fun doing it. (PS Woo! First comment!)
