The sun finally came out today here in Roquetas. They've been having unseasonably cool and wet weather, and we've endured two rainstorms, which are almost unprecedented. Today, finally, we saw the sun, although it was still cool and breezy. That didn't stop the kids, however, from dunking in the chilly waters of the Meditaranean. They spent about 2 hours this afternoon romping around the beach, and also got to see their first topless sunbather! No pictures, though; this is a family-friendly blog!

Last night we got to watch the Spain vs. Iceland soccer match, part of the qualifiers for the Eurocup. Spain won 1-0, although it dominated the game and all the action was down in the Iceland end. (Of course, the population of Iceland is probably 1/20 that of Spain.) In any event, the boys went out today and each bought soccer balls. Watch out for them when they get back on the football pitches (that's soccer fields in American) in June.

We're off to a late dinner tonight with some other families from the language school. People keep later hours here; dinner typically isn't served until about 9pm. The Zavoral family would be right at home!

Hasta luego.

Sounds like a great adventure already! Looking foward to following along vicariously though your blog. The real question: any pickup baseball games around there? Have fun! Mike
