Today we went to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, which is something I have been looking forward to for a while and the highlight of Brisbane. It has 130 koalas but other species as well. It was exciting to actually see a koala and kangeroos too! All very Australian! I took the option of cuddling a koala which was great - they are so soft and woolly and really hold onto you - it was like getting a big hug! I enjoyed looking at all the other koalas too which became increasingly active through the day. Feeding the kangeroos was fun too. They were surprisingly gentle and were happy to be stroked whilst they ate. I also fed Rainbow Lorikeets which fly round like starlings here. I tooks many photos! Also saw wombats, other parrots, snakes, birds of prey plus a few more familiar creatures including guinea pigs(!!) and chicks which I held - me and a lot of 6 year olds! All in all very good indeed.

Cool!
I went there! Glad you had fun. Very impressed with your surfing too! I never tried it, got put off by the big waves at Byron Bay like you said you almost did, but sure I wouldn't have been able to stand up that quickly! I think you did really well! Jen xxx
