Surfers Paradise

I had heard a lot of mixed reviews about Surfers Paradise - some people love it while others hate it so I was intrigued to see what it would actually be like. It is in fact an OK place, but very very tourist tacky. It is as Magaluff is to Majorca - party capital!! It is very much a beach holiday resort so we were happy to spend a day looking round but there is not much more to do other than that in the centre (apart from drink and party of course). It feels more like LA than Oz. We spent today at Movieworld which is Warners version of Disneyland on a smaller scale. This was fun and I even went on one of the roller coasters!! Shashi went on the super scary one and I happily made do with the other rides and attractions. The Shrek 4D theatre show was particularly good.
We stayed in a very nice, small hostel in Southport which was a good choice as this was quieter and not rammed with drunken party-goers : )
