Left lovely Nelson this morning and joined the new bus to westport. New driver Damo seems to be the best yet. So many people were due to leave Nelson that the Kiwi Experience People were forced to put on two buses, which is cool as that means there will be 60 odd traveling down together.

New bus people seem really cool, although I prove to be the eldest again.

We stopped of at Richmond to buy supplies for a picnic. The supermarket did mainly bulk, so I figured I could get a subway for about the same price anyway. Decided to be healthy today and got a tuna sandwich (no way as good as the tuna sandwich at blues Winch!).

Apon leaving Richmond we were stopped by the police for speeding (6km over) and our driver got a ticket. To add to the embarasment the other bus drove past and witnessed the whole ordeal.

We reached beautiful Lake Rotoiti (reminded me a bit of some of the lakes in canada). Luke and I went for a strole near the lake then we all had luinch on the pere. Again it was another stupendous day! We relaxed and watched small boats and ducks float around.

After 2 hours we were on our way again. Stopped off at Murchison to pick up some people who had come across from Christchurch. Got talking to one of the people on the Stray bus (rival company) whcih seemed unfortunatlly as I wasnt on it to consist of mainly women (scared off by the bad rep of Kimi Experience?).

After a short while we reached Westport went via the great buller gorge. Westport is best described as the Eastleigh of New Zealand (beastly Eastleigh). with lots of teenage moms and happens to be the mullet capital of New Zealand too. It consists of only two streets. The Hostel was quite nice. Myself Rob and Amanda went for a wonder (took 5min).

Lots of people went off to do the jet boat ride in the buller gorge. So the rest of us hung around till they returned. Since the kitchen proved to be small we all went out to find a cheap place to eat. Found a small pickey pizza place. Pizza was mainly cheese and very greasy. In fact due to my now unhealthy habit of eating so many pizzas on this trip I decided to swear off them for one full month.

Went back a played some poker. I was quickley knocked out! Since there wasnt alot to do at Westport and we were due a big one tomorrow night I got myself an early nights sleep.

Poker
Sounds familiar - You get pushed out pretty quick when I'm not there to help you buy your way back in to the game ;-)

Mullets
Have you considered using the opportunity to get your hair cut into a Mullet? The local barbers must have some good experience.
