Ladies and gentlemen, friends and family:

This marks the genesis of two adventures - one that begins in just a day or so with a 12+ hour flight to scenic New Zealand, and another that begins as soon as you read this: my first blog (should I call the Fisher-Price people? It'd fit nicely somewhere in here.) I've carefully planned a 12-day vacation to the land of Frodo, Aragorn, and Gandalf the Grey (and some strange competition that involves sheep), and I look forward to the scenery, culture, people and adventure that lie ahead.

Stay tuned to this blog for photos and info about the ground that my good friend Greg and I will be covering during our 12 days in country. If I have anything to say about it (this is my blog after all), the combination of beautiful photography and razor sharp wit will leave you no choice but to stay tuned. There's nothing like an early morning at the office with a Starbucks and Paul's latest blog entry, right?

So with that, I bid you adieu for now.

At first I thought that I didn't subscribe to this blog properly since I wasn't receiving any updates. Then I checked the blog itself... I know that you have posted an entry every day, but with all those sheep and rolling lush surroundings, haven't found an internet cafe to plug into and upload. No worries...

Patience, my child...
Apparently, my clock is so off-base that I thought I was checking in to my hotel in Auckland a day early. Luckily, I double-checked and saved myself the drive down to Auckland early and I eventually made it all the way up to the northern end of the country. I'll update the blog tonight...
