I awoke this morning again to church bells from the Catedral de Barcelona. Except this time they were Sunday mass bells and went on for a long time before and after the service. I felt refreshed, ready to start our final day in Barcelona, and grateful that Nick had talked me out of going to the clubs again. After checking out of our hostel, we had a quick but delicious coffee, peach juice, and croissant breakfast.

Barcelona blessed us with our first totally sunny day since we'd arrived in Europe over a week ago. The weather was perfect for our last day in the city. We decided we should at least see one cathedral while we were in the city, so I figured why not the one that had woken me up the past two mornings. The cathedral was as beautiful as we'd expected, with a lot of separate rooms for different parts of the masses. Outside to the west there was an enclosed garden complete with fountains - something we hadn't seen from the outside. After snapping a few shots, we took the lift to the roof to get a view of Ciutat Vella, as well as the ocean just south.

Then we took the metro the Placa de Espanya to go to the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, Barcelona's main art museum. The climb up is extremely daunting and can't be any less than 500 stairs, but the payoff is well worth it. At the top is a deck with a fantastic view of the city. After taking a few more shots and enjoying what was to be our last stop in Barcelona, we headed to the bus stop to catch our ride to the airport. Nick and I were quick to admit that we were really sad about leaving. Barcelona is truly a great city and easily one of the best places I've had the privilege of visiting. We have a long trip home ahead of us, as well as class. We really don't want to go.

Nice trip
I was in Barcelona about the same time you were, and I didn't do all those museums (being museum'd out). Thanks for the cliff notes version of what I missed. Andrew (nickname AX-Solo)
