shikido area
Awaiting train arrival... Hi all, I am planning to spend some time with family and friends soon. Today I went downtown to finalize preparation of my trip with some minor purchases.
10:00am I boarded the downtown-bound train from shikido station.
Downtown 11:30am
First thing I went to the post office to get some foreign currency. There was a very long queue there and I had to wait my turn peering through the window. My turn came at last, They had unfortunately run out of cash. So I took the few available there and moved off to the bus station for Park Place, the shopping center. In between I checked the Oita bank if they could be of any help to me... They had cash, but I did not have my passport with me which prompted them declining to serve me. It seems the post office is more relax towards foreigners when it comes to changing money in japan (They did not ask me any documentation at the post office). Anyway I promised myself to come back later and proceeded to the bus station. The next bus was scheduled for 14:33pm and I had arrived quite early. So I took advantage of the
time left ahead to get lunch at a nearby restaurant. I ate the same curry rice they serve there everyday. It calmed my stomach despite failing to satisfy me. There was still time ahead and I went to roam the clothes shop.
Park Place I had come to park place primarily in search of a suitcase for the trip. I first thing went to the Gap shop to purchase some outfit for my 3 months old nephew Dave. I could eventually locate a good size suitcase available for an affordable price.
Now I can definitely pack my stuff for the departure!!!
