Jodphur
Where Blue Is The Go Well I'd better finish off from where the last blog ended after the train ride from hell.... So I arrived in Jodphur at 4.30am still feeling not near 100% Went and found a rickshaw guy to take me to the hostel that I booked.. I couldn't say the name so showed him my diary with the address in it and he said oh yes I know.. So of we headed down the road dodging cows, camels and pigs the usual and arrived at a hostel. I go up to reception and show diary they say, "yes yes here here". I asked if they knew that I was coming or not and again they said yes yes again so I paid them the money (where I booked on net you pay on arrival which you shouldn't do anyway) and fell asleep for 3 hours. Got up and went and had a shower walked out onto the balcony of my room and looked down and noticed a sign. It said the wrong name from where I was supposed to be staying.. I just thought to myself ohhh shit then quickly thought did I say the correct name? Yeah, I showed them my diary,

The Clock Tower why am I here then? Then something in me just snapped, I think I'd been ripped off, scammed and lied to one to many times this time! Apparently it is impossible to get your money back anywhere in India but I managed to get it all back off this guy after ten minutes of "discussion". Geee I wasn't happy after being sick for 24 hours and a train ride for 7 then that to happen think I had just about enough!
When I finally got to my correct hostel I told the lady there I'm having a bad day so told her what happened.. She seems to be happy about the whole proceedings and I'm thinking is she insame!! She explained that all rickshaws only go on commission and her hostel doesn’t pay so that’s why they took me to the other place and what made her even more happy was the fact that I got all my money back so the other place lost money because they would have paid the rickshaw 200 Rupee.. They have done it to her 8 times in the past week rickshaw drivers which is a pitty because her hostel is the better than

The City Of Spice I could have imagined.
She let me watch her cook a traditional Indian meal that could feed 10 people (there was only 4 of us) and let me take notes not that I had any clue what was going on! It was just a super place to stay..
Jodphur to me seems to be the city of spices they are everywhere! The smells were so good walking down the street, much better than the usual cow crap, and the markets were full of all goodies. I've started trying the sweets around the place and my god they are good. I took a pic of my favorite which tastes kinda like shortbread with a little honey. Mum you think I've lost weight.. I just put it all back on plus interest in the past 2 days staying in Jodphur! That’s all I did for 2 days in Jodphur just walked around the markets and tried everything in sight! Not a real big city and everything is nice and close. There is heaps of little allayways that are good to walk up and get lost and start talking cricket with some locals..
But I went for a walk up to the fort
Jodphur
Young Tackers above the city, Mehrangarh Fort, and you really see why it is called the blue city. Every house is obviously painted blue and has been the way for centuries. It is supposed to keep it cool or something. The fort has a audio tour which was brilliant. Gave a good in depth detail about everything. I'll say one thing about it... It is properly the same in all forts but anyway, if the King is killed in battle of dies of old age he is out in a pile of wood and burnt which is pretty normal back then (and still do in some places) but his wife dead or alive has to jump up and sit along side him and have the same fait!! It was started been built in 1459.
The people are still awesome around the place, except rickshaw drivers, so still having a blast with the kids, had huge water fight yesterday with a bunch of them which was fun and I'm back to eating flat out so that’s good.
At the moment I'm having a little trouble getting to Mumbai to catch my flight. Every train is booked, I though two days notice would be
Jodphur
View Of Fort From Market fine but it is the weeding season and one weeding can have up to 3000 people need to book about ummm 2 months ago! I've made it to Udapiur now and trying to get a bus there hopefully. There is no worry’s yet got 24 hours before I've got to leave here. I just told the man who owns this internet cafe and he said his Uncles friend may be able to get me on a bus so that’s fine. Just ask someone over here and they will always help unless they are a rickshaw driver of course. Someone always knows someone.
Well that’s about it for this one.. Next one will be in Mumbai waiting for my plane hopefully but will be on a bus for 14 hours so wont be doing much between then and now.
Take care all
