George did his homeowrk and found fabulous restaurants for this trip. You won't see any pictures of him because he is extremely camera shy or possibly works for the government.....we can't decide. Tonight we ate at Chez La Vieille for the second time. Arrived at the restaurant and we were served salami with complimentary champagne. Next we ordered appetizers. They bring out entire dishes and you take all you want..........dangerous with 3 New Yorkers and a SF person with big appetites! We had homemade pate with the freshest french bread....nice crunch to the bread. Then a homemade warm potato salad, artichoke heart salad, celery root salad, and head cheese. We could have easily made this dinner but stopped ourselves. Loretta had scallops....she said they were the best and freshest she ever tasted. The other three of us had braised beef with carrots and two kinds of potatoes....whipped and sauteed. We chose a red wine, Hermitage, FABULOUS! Dessert same thing..........they bring out entire dishes and you take all you want. Stewed prunes in a red wine, creme caramel, chocolate mousse, bread pudding with creme glaze, baba with liquor topping. Yes we had coffee, cafe au lait....we ate it all. Very expensive and
worth every penny!

Ellen--I thought I was the only one to take pictures of food! I also take pictures of beer when I travel when it's served in different glasses! Love these shots because it makes me feel like I was there...I can almost taste that mouse!
