So after leaving Anjuna more than a little disappointed I've returned to Palolem for the New Year festivities. Originally i had planned on travelling in only one direction but i had to swallow my pride and head back south for 2 hours and i'm damn glad that i did to. Basically all the people that I had left there hadn't moved to far, infact the lazy bastards were still on the same sun beds, it was like i had never gone. So after a couple of days riding scooters in the north of Goa, the next couple of days was going to consist of nothing but beach, babes and booze (so Australian).

New Years Eve turned out to be a great laugh with some great new friends and many more strangers. It started with dinner on the beach consisting of about 25 people, some of the guys I'd had Christmas dinner with, others that we met only hours before, a good old travellers party. We moved on for drinks at the guest house we were staying at (thanks Sandra) to watch the beach fireworks randomly whizz through the sky from about 11.30pm until well past midnight. I don't think anyone

really knew when 12.00am was, not that anyone ever does. With the beach full of people, restaurants full, lights beaming along the beach and music pumping all the way along the beach it was a great end to the year, and a surprising start......that being stuck in the arse end of no where (India). Theres not too much to say really, it's all a bit of a blur. But we continued on at a number of different spots, messy and looking like trash bags (as we should) and danced the night away on the beach with everyone else. dodging the bodies past out along the beach (most of them Indian fellas, as they don't seem to hold their booze to well). There aren't to many photo's from the actual night as i didn't have my camera, but the ones attached are what i managed to salvage from others. Now I'm not sure what the deal is with the fluorescent mask that i have on but i'm sure that some one gave it to me. Ive given up trying to figure what happend, all i know is that i made it through to sunrise and woke at lunch with a massive

hangover. But again, the best part about the beach is the fact that New Years Day consisted of being waited on hand and foot by the bar staff and drinking mohitios for breakfast (can't stand bloody mary's so its the next best thing). This beach business is going to have to come to an end soon though, A) I'm getting fat and B) this ain't India. But I'm making the most of it while i can. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
