Day 4 Hollwood

Another long long day, going to bed late and getting up early is starting to take a toll on us. Today we went to Universal Studios (bit like Movie World). We paid an extra $20 to get front of the line passes, which literally took you to the front of the line for each ride or show, it was great, no lining up! The pass also included behind the scenes after each show, where they explain how things were done and you can meet the actors and have a photo- which I enjoyed.

We did the usual stuff, a studio tour. The tour visited the set of Desperate Housewives "Wisteria Lane', the Psycho 'Bates Hotel', the Back to the Future town hall and numerous other film and TV locations. There were a few shows, Animals in Hollywood, which I really liked- they are so cute and its amazing the stuff they train them to do. Another show was WaterWorld with water flying everywhere and pyrotechnics. Another show was Terminator 3D which was good and then Shrek 4D (which we already saw the exact show at Movie World on the Goldcoast). We also went to a special effects show, where I volunteered to a sound for Peter Pan- exciting stuff. There were three rides, The Mummy, Jurassic Park and Back to the future. So overall, I think we had higher expectations of the place considering what we had heard about it. Nevertheless we still had a ball and enjoyed the experience.

After universal studios there is a city walk just outside which was really nice. But our dam camera went flat and we couldn’t take any photos. So we couldn’t resist and went and bought a disposal. It was a great set up with flashing lights, nice restaurants and shopping.

When we got back to Hollywood Blvd we did our final walk of the strip (as we leave tomorrow) and went to see a movie at the Chinese Theater- Casino Royal. Which I actually enjoyed- having not seeing one James Bond film ever I was a little unsure. Neway so that was our day. We make the trip down to Anahein tomorrow. Benn has hooked us up with a 7.20am train ride to Downtown LA and an 8.30am bus to Anahein. Cant wait!!! Its 1am again and im going to bed. I will pop photos for this blog tomorrow, im too tired to do it now.
