The week started out well enough.... I needed to visit the doctor as I was sick again! It seems that despite arming myself with vitamin C, echinacea, Centrum vitamins, Omegas, and hand sanitizer, my paultry immune system has failed me once again! I need to start wearing a face mask in public! The wonderful thing about the French it seems, is that its possible to get the medication you need BEFORE you visit the doctor. I went to the pharmacy in the morning and the doctor in the afternoon, so by the time I saw the doctor, I was already feeling better and the prescription form was useless.

I have found a beautiful new apartment, well, I didn't really find it, but inhereted it. It's actually Cody's (a fellow student) place, but he's moving out and I'm moving in. Its located in Vieux Vichy (The old town) near the medieval castle and the large Celestins Parc and Parc Napoleon. It's bigger, with floor to ceiling windows and a large balcony. Its also right around the corner from the school.

Well, to celebrate, Joanna and I went for Moules Frites - Mussles and French Fries sloshed down with beer. Its fanatistic, I giant pot of mussles. A la Provençial, with garlic, tomatos, and onions and herbs ismy favourite, while Jo likes the Rochefort Moules, with a creamy rich sauce. Its fanatistic and you sit in ectasy for an hour. The smell alone wafts up and makes you salivate.

Well, on Wednesday I went to the cinema with Sidi, to watch James Bond in French. It was a good movie and with all the action and romance scenes, it was pretty easy to follow. However, my evening was disturbed by Sidi's erratic behavior, and he suddenly left in the middle of the movie (it turned out to be nothing serious). It unsettled me a bit and topped with the work I have to do and landlord issues, I was stressed out of my mind when I got home and cried for an hour! It was a total, what the hell am I doing in France moment. But it passed, and on Thursday I had my confidence back, though I wasn't in the best spirits. I decided to stay in Vichy and not go to visit Ludo and planned to go out with IBF that night.

Just as I was about to go meet up with IBF, I got a text from Ludo who had come to visit me as a surprise! Just what I needed to cheer me up! The night was a lot of fun, with French and IBF students and some great old music in Fous de Roi (the club we tend to go to).

Now, I msut discuss the joys of renting in France. Firstly, you must give two months notice before vacating, which, in October, I did - in person, in writing and via mail. But some how, my landlady didn't get the message, and when I went to confirm my departure, she freaked out, claiming I'd never told her I was going!
