We had a pleasant drive from Bryce Canyon south to Alt 89 and on to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We saw evidence along the way of the awful forest fires they had a month or so ago. Parking was a bit inconvenient at the Canyon Village due to road construction, so Kerry and Timmy walked from the parking area to the Lodge patio to view the canyon from there.
The drive from the North Rim to Page, AZ, seemed to take forever, but we were just tired and the road was bumpy and winding. It was a relief to at last pick up some groceries at Walmart and settle into our spot at the campground.

We drove south from Page to Flagstaff where we headed east on I-40. Our first stop was Meteor Crater, something Timmy had been looking forward to. It is pretty impressive for a hole in the ground.
From there we drove to Petrified Forest and Painted Desert NP. We most enjoyed seeing Newpaper Rocks, petroglyphs on the tumbled rocks there. Between
the two parks is a pull off that remembers the iconic Route 66, where we stopped for a few pictures.
As we drove on east to Gallup, we finally had some rain to wash off some of the dust and cool things down. It was 61 and drizzling when we pulled into the campground.

WE’ve missed most of your blogs. I think it was Lisa or Cathy who told us you were here in FL!!! Those pictures sure bring back fun memories!!!
