A screeching halt...

Our round the world adventure turned into a scramble to get home when The Virus changed our plans for us.

We were fortunate to be able to revise our flights to get back to Toronto via Vancouver.

It meant missing a week in Rarotonga which we have long wanted to do, and a stop in LA where we were to meet up with a friend who teaches there.

It was so comforting to get back to find son Pat, his wife Claire and ably assisted by their sons Tom (6) and Ollie (4) had fetched our car from storage at Sauble and loaded it up with groceries and necessities...”We even got you chips!” said Tom.

Now we will hunker down at home and hope for the best!

Sydney Harbour
No visit to Sydney is complete until you have taken a ferry ride, preferably to Manly.
We were treated to a close up look at an international catamaran race.

Aussie birdlife
We visited with mates at Burrill Lake, south of Sydney and enjoyed the local birds.

Bushfire damage
We saw plenty of evidence of the devastating bushfires that ravaged the region south of Sydney, including Sussex Inlet where I had lived.

Family visit to Melbourne
We visited nephew Todd in Melbourne with his wife Jenna and children Layla and Nate.

The Great TP caper
My brother had asked me to pick up tp if available as shelves were bare of it in Sydney.
So Todd and I lined up with a crowd for a supermarket opening. We successfully out hustled several old ladies to get our hands on the prize!

Farewell lunch
With Garry & Jan just south of Sydney.

Desmond at The Beach
My mate Des presented us with this little Aussie surfer to take back to Sauble.
Here he is freezing more than his toes in the lingering snow, waiting for the lake to thaw.
