Should I stay or should I go?

The flight here was pretty cool, took a few pix of the red sands, and vast emptiness of the outback. As soon as I got off the plane it was like someone put a hair dryer to my face. It was so hot out. and it was only 11:30am. I got the shuttle to my hostel where I got a 3 bedroom dorm all to my self for 16.00 a night (amazing) the hostel is pretty cool. There is a pool and party bar all in the big complex. Right next door it the Baby Kangaroo (joey) help center. They take in abandoned or orphaned joeys and take care of them until they can go back to the wild. I am gonna try and get in to see them at some point (just make a donation).

Today I woke up at about 10:00am after a nice, air conditioned sleep. But sure enough as soon as I left the building it was another shot in the face with the hair dryer. I walked around town to do a little exploring, Alice Springs is not very big at all, and sent off some Xmas gifts from the post office. Had a fantastic lunch then headed back towards the hostel.

OK everyone, you gonna shake you head at me, but I am starting to think that I might just go do a 3.5 day tour of Ayers Rock and then get the train down south to do the whole harvest thing. I know I keep flip flopping around, but I have realized that If i want to get back home to save my money for a trip to Thailand in May/June that I'd have to get back home before the end of Feb. to make some money. HOWEVER...if I do a decent amount of harvest work I'll have enough money to travel around and do the last few things in OZ that I wanna do + be able to get home WITH OUT HAVING TO PUT IT ON MY VISA. The job here in Alice Springs at Bo's seems like it would be good, but I wouldn't see a first pay until 2 wed. from now. That and the fact that I have already seen most of Alice, in my 2 days of being here. The only other things I want to see here is a few of the parks/zoos which might take up another day or so. I really don't know how well I could do living here. A guy I met last night said something to me that I have been thinking about for the last 12 hours. He said "if you gonna be here for Xmas won't you feel really alone? not too many tours come through here then and a lot of people go away for about a week".
So, should I stay here and make some money but be bored (more then I thought) and possibly have a dull Xmas/new years. Or should I make the move and do an amazing tour of Ayers Rock ( something very high on my list of things I wanted to do in oz) then take the train (another thing) and do some harvest work and just make the money to do a final tour of the North East coast and come home without maxing my Visa card....That's what I have to decide....right now.

Enjoy the few pix, and next time you hear from me I should have made a decision.
