Our apartment is so nice, we’re thinking of staying longer. It’s so relaxing the cool evening breezes are so comfortable.
Waking up refreshed has been delightful, I rollover and smell fresh coffee. Normally I’m the first one up, not now... Kirsten is up and has fresh coffee and a robust German breakfast. I’m liking this vacation.
We finish breakfast and Kirsten tells me she has found a walk for us to take. We’ll need to take lunch because it a little long. How long I ask? Hmmm, let’s just say we’ll be back in time for dinner. WHAT!
Kirsten has found a walk, hike, Vonder through the Black Forest. Me, I’m a little skeptical but I follow. She has packed us a lunch and we’ll be gone for 5-6 hrs and somewhere out there I plan on taking a nap. If I don’t make it back, send help. LOL...
Off we go just like Hansel and Gretel. It’s all up hill, mostly in the shade and we stop every so often and take in the view. Yea, we walked that far up and around the valley(see photos). The Black forest is full of paths, tractor roads. Yes,
the farmers were working the meadows, cows, goats and sheep everywhere.
After 4 hours of walking, we came upon a shady meadow and I was ready for some lunch. Kirsten packed us sandwiches, chips, fruit and BEER. Woo Hoo!! After a hardy lunch, I laid back on the blanket under shady trees and soft meadow grass. I was out for an hour or so, great nap.
Upon waking up, we continued on our trek, we made it back to the apartment. You don’t need to send help but thanks for being on call.
It was not as taxing as I expected, but once we make it back those cold beer(s) went down easy. I opened a beer and took a swig. I then turn my head checking email and news on my iPad. I then reach for my beer and it had moved. Kirsten had been drinking my beer unbeknownst to me. I look at my empty beer and turn to Kirsten and got a wink. I get up and get myself another beer.
The apartment owners recommended us a restaurant to eat at, so after freshening up we’re into the car looking for this restaurant.
Well ....we didn’t find it, but this little old lady told us where to find it. She also told us it was closed on Monday & Wednesday. LOL...
We rode around looking for another café and found one in the local town. We had a light meal with multiple beers. Trying to rebuild our carbs, LOL.
By the time we make it back to the apartment It’s 10pm. We’re both tired from our outings today so off to bed we go.
As we’re lying in bed Kirsten tells me to get a good night sleep because I’ll need it for tomorrows adventure.
I’m excited,
Good Night...
