I can climb to my roof to hang out laundry to dry... the only problem is that it is rainy season.
¡Bienvenido a mi apartamento! So after thinking that I would be stuck with a small bachelor apartment in La Paz, I get assigned to the massive apartment. (I say assigned as CUSO found this place for me). I have three bedrooms, a full bathroom w/bidet, a dining room, living room, kitchen and ironing room. What the heck am I going to do with all that space! All I brought with me was my traveling backpack and a duffle bag as I was told to "pack light". So yes, if you or anyone you know are coming to La Paz, you have free accomodations, just let me know ahead of time.

I´ll let the pictures to the talking for this blog entry as there really isn´t too much to say about my apartment besides what I put in for captions.

This is what $250 USD gets you in La Paz!

My bed for the next six months. I gotta admit that it is more comfortable than my old bed. To keep warm, there is the comforter, two thick alpaca blankets and another sheet.

Check out all that closet space. I should have brought a few more suitcases with me. I only can half fill one of them. They have built in drawers as well, which is great for keeping everything organized.

A TV in my room...that´s a first! Too bad the remote doesn´t work and I can only go down through the channels and the channel-up button seems to be broken.

The roof is pretty interesting as it lets in a lot of light during the day, but during rainstorms, I gotta say that it is pretty noisy.

This room contains a single bed and a funky clock (which doesn´t work). The room contains windows to the hallway so that some natural light gets in.

This bedroom contains another double bed and as my landlord put it, "This is where your family stays". Let´s see if they visit me :)

Can you believe I even had a bidet in my washroom? Unfortunately, only cold water comes out of it so I don´t think I´ll be using it too much :) Notice the little pink garbage can, that´s where the toilet paper goes as Bolivian plumbing can´t handle toilet paper. Consider yourselves lucky!

To get hot water, I have to turn on a switch on the wall. The shower head heats the water, however, the more water pressure you want, the chillier the water is.

Those 70´s colours, I can´t escape them. To use the stove, I have to turn on the gas (from underneath the sink), turn the burner on, ignite a match and then light the element. Gotta make sure that I have my sleeves rolled up to do that :)

Yes, that fridge is what we would consider a bar fridge. Just means I have to go grocery shopping more often and buy smaller things. It reallys hasn´t been a problem yet.

That window looks into my ironing room (which isn´t the nicest looking room). I seem to have lots of cupboard space compared to the others. I even found a waffle iron in one of the cupboards!

This is the view of my living room and dining room from my kitchen entrance. Have to keep remembering to duck under the staircase otherwise I´ll end up with a nasty bump on my head. Not sure why the place was build like this, it is not like they were running out of space.

Check it out... I have a spiral staircase. I have never lived in a place with more than one floor (Yes, my parent´s place has a basement but we are not allowed to bring people done there)

Can´t wait to start having dinner parties here! The fake flowers on the table are going though.

I have lots of seating space in my place. I think the landlord got lazy and only decided to reupholster one side of the couch, as well as the chairs. It gives the place "character".
