Do you remember a time when dive travel was considered adventurous? For travelling divers who are not satsfied by resort or liveabaord diving packages there remains few alternatives offered by the dive travel industry. Dive Safari Asia is a travel company that aims to get divers out of the resorts and off the boats to experience the very country that they are there to visit, both above and below the surface.
After attending a Dive Show in the UK a few years back my partner and I left feeling thoroughly uninspired. Being travelling divers we have never been ones for your average resort or liveaboard based diving package, we always preferred to experience the very country we are there to visit rather than become separated from it. In a total of 12 hours under the roof of one of Europeans largest diving showcases we failed to find anything that appealed. Whats more the Asia Pacific Showcase featured just a few exhibitions and a satay stand!
For those who seek inspiration and adventure through both travelling and diving we soon began to realise there are few options offered by the diving industry. After many years of dive travel in South East Asia we felt we had the knowledge to provide an alternative, the rest as they say is history!
Now operating in Sulawesi, Sumatra, Papua, Peninsular Malaysia and the Similan Islands we create diving adventures that are adventurous, inspirational and personal. We tour these countries in small groups, safari style to incorporate both above and below the surface adventures.
Part of our philosophy lies in exploing new destinations and in the coming years we'll be working our way into Asia's final frontiers - to include the Togian's in Sulawesi, Leyte in the Phillippines and Flores and Komodo in South Indonesia.
