Different ticket prices of LAN-Peru
16 years ago, January 3rd 2008 No: 1 Msg: #24981
Hello,

Does anybody know why there is a difference in the ticket prices of LAN tickets, for peruvians and europeans? If I go the LAN-peru website and choose the peruvian site, tickets seem to be cheaper. Can I book as a European via the Peruvian site?

This system is in heavy use by airlines from all across the globe, kind of similar in concept to regionalized DVDs. Prices are adapted to the local economies. I don't know the exact policy of LAN but I would assume that if you want to buy the tickets on the Peruvian site they must be picked up in Peru as well. This is why some people fly to another continent and then shop around for cheaper regional tickets instead of buying the whole package from their home country. Reply to this

Thnx,

I believe that it are E-tickets, so there is no need to pick it up in Peru. Reply to this

I booked on the LAN-Peru site while in the U.S. and saved money. After that, as I recall, I could check-in online no problem. The only issue was that flight cancellations/delays seemed pretty common due to the weather, so leave yourself some time to catch your flights back home etc... Reply to this
