Hey, we´re on way to Argentina soon and are having difficult finding buses connecting Baroilche to El Carafete? does any one have any advice? which companies are run there? do they have online services? that would be great! Reply to this

Look for info in the: RETIRO BUS STATION in Buenos Aires there more than 50 bus companies... or something similar in Bariloche.

Definatly agree, most town in Argentina seemed to have a central bus depo where all the bus companies were based, if go to the bus atation you can easily get tickets on teh day of travel, just check the times. Alot of long distance jurneys seemed to have loads of busses leaving at a similar time and then none for a couple of hours. Reply to this

Bariloche - El Calafate is indeed not the easiest one. Most common is Bariloche - El Bolson - Esquel (only 4 hours) and than the big trip to Rio Gallegos via Commodore Rivadavia. If you're lucky you can get a connection direct from Rio Gallegos to El Calafate. Otherwise you have to spent a night in Rio Gallegos which is a waste. Count on a 36 hrs. bus ride but he that's Argentina. I went with Don Otto or something from Esquel to Rio Gallegos. Another trip is de Ruta 40 bus ride which goes via the pampas to El Chalten. More expensive and takes a few days, more a touristic bus ride. Ask in Bariloche or Esquel for these busses. Reply to this
