3 weeks in Argentina

I\'m travelling to Argentina at the end of October for 3 weeks. The plan is to spend 3 days in Bariloche, 7 days around El Calafate, El Chalten and Torres del Paine in Chile, two days in San Antonio de Areco during the Dia de la Tradicion (Gaucho festival), two days in Iguazu and the rest in BA. I was wondering if someone could advise me in a few things...

Bariloche - What is a definite must do/see in the Bariloche area? I would like to do some fishing and trekking... is it easy to find routes? or is it easier to go with organised groups?

El Calafate/El Chalten/TdP - The idea is to spend a couple of days in El Calafate and go to see the Perito Moreno glacier and to a glacier minitrekking. I would then like to move to El Chalten and do some more trekking around the Fitzroy Mount. And finally spend 3 days in Torres del Paine. Again, is it easy to find routes to do independently? Also, does anyone know if it\'s possible to reach El Chalten and TdP by public transport from El Calafate? I was thinking of hiring a car but it\'s getting a bit pricey. Any ideas? Also, any recommendations on accommodation in Torres del Paine? I understand that it gets very busy and it\'s advisable to book in advance.

Iguazu - I\'m planning on spending one day in the Argentinian side and another one in the Brazilian side. What\'s the best country to stay overnight? Argentina or Brazil? Also, being a Spanish citizen and British resident what documentation do I need if I want to stay in Brazil? How quickly is the journey from Puerto Iguazu to the falls?

With regards to accommodation in all of the above places... is it advisable to book in advance or is it easy to find availability when you get there? Any recommedations on particular hotels?

Any ideas/advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Its really easy to find accommodation thoughout Argentina. You'll probably end up paying more if you book in advance. Unless you are arriving late somewhere, just turning up should be fine. Reply to this
