Group of 6 people that just graduated from college and are planning on visiting Kenya for at least 10 days, we prefer camping. We have heard of Masai Mara and Nakuru but we would like to know of 3 other interesting parks that we can visit during the trip. Reply to this

Hello aaditya13,
10 days is quite a good time to visit Kenya and you will at least visit the most popular tourist destinations in Kenya.
Masai mara national park-2 nights
Nakuru national park-1 night
Naivasha(hell gate national park)-1 night
Amboseli national park-2 nights
Abadares park-1 night
Mt-kenya national park-1 night
Samburu national park-1 night
And you take a camping package if you on budget.

Hello Aaditya, sorry for not responding earlier.

Mara is definitely the highlight, particularly during The Great Migration.

I've visited both Ol Pejeta Conservancy (rhinos amongst others) and Samburu (elephants and leopards) and can recommend them both. If you visit one, you are only a relaxing day journey from the other. Consider staying at the Serena Mountain Lodge at Mt Kenya - one of the best value places I stayed at in Kenya. You can watch herds of elephants and buffaflo from the balcony of your room.

I've not heard strong reports about Amboseli.

The travel camel shane dallas, yes we have been advised to replace Samburu with Amboseli... we will now be visiting Mara, Nakuru, Bogoria and Samburu.

Thank you. Reply to this

That is a great selection. That looks to be the order of them too - though I would finish with the Mara and start in Samburu - the reason being is to save the best for last. However, Samburu has really lovely scenery so if you are wanting to see great scenery the order of your itinerary is great.

Hope that you can blog about your experience and include some photos.

One final question, when will you be travelling there? Reply to this

Hi, my travel agent has also recommended I finish with Mara but I want to start with Mara just in case we find the great migration, we will be travelling in the first week of October.

I will definitely come back here after the trip and post some photos and also add a short blog of the trip.

Thank you. Reply to this

First week of October is getting near the end of the The Great Migration in Kenya. You don't want to miss that as it is one of the greatest spectacles in the world, as this photo of mine attests. Reply to this
