I'm solo traveler. Tips on getting around Morocco? What tour companies to use? What desert tours do you recommend?

Thanks Reply to this

I went on holiday with my girlfriend, we booked our trip with www.aboutmoroccotravel.eu.ma company and it was a fantastic holiday. We really had a fabulous time, we only spent a week and wish we spent more as there is so much to do. Reply to this

It's really easy to figure out places to go in Morocco. Everyone and there dog will be trying to sell you some sort of package tour or trip to the dessert etc...

Whilst i was in Marrakech i spoke with the guys at the Hotel i was in and through them arranged anything i wanted to do.

Never, ever accept the price they tell you even if it's your hotel charging you for the trip. Always haggle.

And that goes for everything in Morocco. Despite there now being new rules that certain things have to have a set price - you can basically haggle no matter where you are or what your buying.

As a rule i would start at roughly a third of there starting price and go from there. If they try and act all annoyed at this then your probably doing well 😉

It's a very interesting country to visit! I only spent just over a week there but if you have any other questions feel free to ask 😊 Reply to this

Hey there-

I went to Morocco in October and did a trip with a company called Berber Travel Adventures. They specialize in visiting Berber villages (the views and especially the food are amazing!) as well as some of the adventure destinations like the gorges and canyons in the south.

As far as the desert goes, I'd recommend Erg Chegaga over Merzouga and the others. Erg Chegaga is equally difficult to get to, but the tours tend to be cheaper and the whole vibe is a lot less touristy. You should head from Marrakech to Ouarzazate (see the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, it's worth it), then head down to M'Hamid for the desert trip. Have fun! Reply to this
