Visiting the Amazon

South American Amazon Basin (Peru or Bolivia)

Hi everyone!

Having already been to Borneo (Kinabatangan River) we have fairly high expectations of what we want to see and experience when we head back into the jungle. We are currently trying to decide where we want to visit the Amazon, either Peru or Bolivia. In all honestly, if we see a few spiders, a monkey and 3,000 mosquitoes we're going to be pretty disappointed. We keep hearing conflicting opinions from everyone we meet on the road lately, so we're wondering what some of you might have to say from your own experiences. We always value the opinions of the Travelblog community and would love to have some input. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Bolivia sounds like fun. I have never been there though. Reply to this
