I am planning a trip to these three countries next month and wanted to get some helpful information about them. I am very attracted to the coastal regions, but I have also heard that Bogota is worth checking out also. If anyone can offer and extend some insight, tips or advice it would be much appreciated. You can leave me a post here or you can send me an email directly at <snip>
thanks,

Reply to this Hi, Ive been to Colombia, Venezuela and Tobago (not trini). Colombia highlights for me was the coffee country round Salento, Mompos (takes a while to get there but its very very chilled out town, like going back in time and you can chill on the banks of the Rio Magdelena with a cool bottle of Poker beer, then Cartagena of course, then Parque Tayrona and kip in a hammock (much cooler temperature wise than the tents. Bogota is ok, but just like a big European city, with the usual city stuff
Venezuela, do not miss the angel falls and Los LLanos. Los LLanos is the best trip I took in a whole year of travelling, saw an anaconda, lots of boas, birds, capybara, cayman and river dolphins, very close up as well and stayed on a working ranch.
If you get to Trini - I reccomend that you take a quick 15 minute flight to Tobago or two hour ferry (same country, different island) - head up to Charlotteville for a taste of the real carribean and pristine beaches, very nice locals, and not many tourists. Have a fantastic time, your going to some cracking places
