Hi everyone!
I need some help!
My boyfriend and I have booked a holiday to Zanzibar from 19-26 April (the only leave we could get), and I'm starting to panic! All of the websites say that it rains/pours throughout April! Is this true?
I don't mind a few days cuddling indoors, but I'd also really like a few days at the beach, eeek!
Reply to this Hi Samantha,
I know I am responding a bit late, but maybe it still hels other travellers!
Generally, there are two rainy seasons - the long rains during March, April, and May and the short rains throughout November and December. During the long rains, many camps and lodges on the mainland close down as the roads become impassable due to the tropical downpours. Although Zanzibar is considered a year round destination, there might be some unpleasant, rainy and windy days during that period. This April was defintely rainy, but there are still some nice sunny days - and if so - quite hot as well! Especially the East coast is not as rainy as the west coast!
Hope you enjoyed your stay (anyways)?!? and maybe see you some time back on the island!
Petra
