I'm planning a one-month journey to the Rift Valley area in Kenya to do some volunteer work (taking an inventory of natural springs). This will require travelling around to various villages on some type of motorbike, probably a dual sport, meeting local reps and walking with them to the springs. This means I need to pack fairly lightly. I rode a dirtbike for a day in Sierra Leona once and it is definitely the best way to travel the rough African roads. Any advice on what I need to bring, what is essential, what is not necessary? WHat kind of small-sized gifts would be appreciated there? It will be in March just before rainy season. The motorbike will be provided by the aid organization. Any advice is appreciated.
thanks!
Reply to this pretty cool idea dude!! i appreciate your plan.. i am a biker from UK.. ricky cena.. right now i am traveling India in my bike. i have been to africa before. so just want to give you two advices.. 1st - u must learn the basic repairing of your motor bike, and must take sufficient extra fuel with you, and 2nd - always go for naked motor bikes when you are traveling in a rough and rugged area. wish you best of luck for your trip buddy. safe riding.
