I am planning a trip through central and south America, and have had much mixed advice about visiting Colombia

I'm a woman traveling alone in South America for the last five years and have heard nothing but praise about Colombia. Everyone raves about it. The only downside that I've heard is that during the South American summer holidays, Jan and Feb, it can be tricky to find a place to stay--it's that popular! I can hardly wait to get there!
