Traveling to Chile, Peru, and Argentina
13 years ago, September 2nd 2010 No: 1 Msg: #118597
Hi,
I am looking to go with a friend to Chile, Peru, and Argentina. I have done a lot of travels in Europe but never this continent. I am traveling from the east coast of the US and was hoping to figure out my options. What\'s the best route between those three countries, what are the best transportation options? Is it best to start in Argentina or Peru? How feasible is it to get those 3 places done in 2 weeks? I know it\'s quick but I\'ve done 4 countries in Europe in 12 days so I can move fast😊 I just don\'t have a lot of time but would like to get the most out of the trip!
I know there is a lot of information already on this site and I've tried to gather up some information but any help would still be appreciated😊
And if anyone is going to any of those places at that time, let me know as well.
thank you

You may well have done 4 countries in Europe in 12 days but the countries you mention are a good deal larger and you will have to take a lot of flights to see all three. Even then you will miss most of what is worth seeing. If you are going to Cusco/Machu Picchu in Perú, you will need 5 days as an absolute minimum, and that is just one of the bits worth seeing. For many internal flights you will have to return to the capital, which can eat up time. The only alternative to flying is going by bus and you simply won't have time for that. Look into an air pass (LANpass or others) as multiple destination tickets can be cheaper.
If you are a US citizen, you will have a reciprocity fee to pay if you fly into Santiago or Buenos Aires (Ezeiza) on an international flight.,
