Hello from Vancouver, Host City of the 21st Winter Games opening in 2 days. We are the Travelling Canucks, regular contributors to Travel Blog. We love the site! We were wondering if it would be possible to have a more current photo(s) on the Vancouver page. A photo of a halloween pumpkin has been posted for months. It would be great to see photos of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games. You are welcome to use any of our photos or those of fellow bloggers related to the Olympics or scenic photos of Vancouver, a beautiful city! Thanks, The Travelling Canucks!

The photos on the locations pages are the ones that are most highly rated. The way to get new ones on there, would be to rate the photos you like. You do this by clicking on a photo in a blog to enlarge it, and then clicking on the stars to rate it.
Also, to encourage others to rate the photos you like, you could post them in one of the theme threads in the Photography Forum.
For the photos belonging to you, you could post them in the following thread, to request others to rate them. Then they may appear on the locations pages. 😊

Reply to this Thanks Mell for your reply. It's 5 days later and I think photos have been posted and rated and the same Halloween photo remains on the Vancouver webpage. Is it possible that the web page is not refreshing properly? Can the site administrator fix it so that Vancouver's page looks better! It is the 21st Olympic Winter Games Host City! It just looks sad! Thanks for helping out!
Reply to this It is likely that not enough photos of Vancouver have been highly rated. Have you rated some in the last 5 days or put forward some of your own on the thread linked to in Msg 2 for rating? The webmaster will check for a fault, when there is time. This is one of those things that is listed as nice to have, but not a high priortiy.

Reply to this I have rated some of the Olympics photos(and maybe others will too, because I made a Front Page thread about the Olympics). If you do the same, some of the photos might show on the Vancouver page.
Also, if the photos get enough ratings, they may show on the top right of TravelBlogs Front Page. It would be good too if folks would recommend some of the bloggers blogging about the Olympics because if they get enough recommends the blogs will get on the Front Page.

Reply to this Ah super! It updated. Hopefully, some bloggers in Vancouver will get on the Front Page while the Olympics are on, and give us a first hand account of what it is like. A blogger will need 3 recomends for that( as far as I know it is still 3).
